The Commonwealth eAccessibility Ministerial Summit
To coincide with the Paralympics, the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation and UK Government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport are co-hosting the Commonwealth eAccessibility Summit on the 30th and 31st August 2012 at the Institute of Directors in London.
The event will provide an opportunity for Commonwealth Ministers and policy makers to learn from each other and agree a way forward for ICT Accessibility policy and implementation across the Commonwealth.
Sandi Wassmer will set the tone for the Summit with the opening keynote and the inspirational Kevin Carey, RNIB's Chairman, will deliver the closing keynote.
The Summit will feature speakers and round table chairs, including Professor Alan Newell and Dr David Sloan of Dundee University's School of Computing, who have been at the forefront of thought leadership and research in HCI, focusing on the accessibility of ICTs for older and disabled people. Axel Leblois from G3ict will be talking about International accessibility benchmarks, and there will be presentations by Adam Oliver from the BT Group, Richard Orme from the RNIB and Susan Scott-Parker, from the Employer’s Forum on Disability.
